Academic Program

The University of Southern California is one of the world’s leading private research universities. An anchor institution in Los Angeles, a global center for arts, technology and international business, USC’s diverse curricular offerings provide extensive opportunities for interdisciplinary study and collaboration with leading researchers in highly advanced learning environments. The USC MCAA student chapter is dedicated to connecting students interested in subcontracting with industry professionals and exposing them to potential career paths in construction. We pride ourselves on our members and take much care to give them the skills that they need to succeed in the field. Through training sessions in topics like BIM, estimating, professional conduct, and scheduling as well as info sessions with local MCAA companies, we teach our members the tools and concepts used in the field. With events and conferences such as the MCAA Student Competition, CPMCA Technology conference, and job walks, our members get a great amount of exposure to innovative ideas and hands-on experience.

Our chapter has received great support from our local chapter, the California Plumbing and Mechanical Contracting Association (CPMCA). With their help, we have been able to engage in numerous networking and social events with local CPMCA affiliates. We look forward to establishing ourselves as a very active chapter throughout the MCAA community and the local Southern California region.

Awards & Activities

Newly established in Spring 2018, the USC MCAA student chapter has been very active in connecting our students to subcontracting companies as well as construction projects. We are proud to have been granted a Student Chapter Charter at the 2018 MCAA National Conference in San Antonio, Texas and have already engaged in activities with the local industry. A few of our recent and current events include:
