National Service and Maintenance Agreement
The National Service and Maintenance Agreement is an agreement negotiated and administered by the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry (UA) and the Mechanical Service Contractors of America (MSCA) and is a signed contract between the UA and individual mechanical service contracting firms who apply and qualify. The Agreement is a nationally recognized tool that helps contractors provide quality, consistent service to their customers throughout the country and helps reclaim lost market share.
The complexity of longer, more elaborate pipe systems, paired with the urgency of getting a business back up and running, makes having the right tools for commercial plumbing repairs essential. Gabriel majored in Construction Management at California State University, Chico and graduated in May. He was an active member of his student chapter from 2022-2025 and served as the Competition Chair and Event Coordinator for his chapter. Gabriel, who interned with MCAA Members, MacDonald Miller Facility Solutions and Marelich Mechanical, will be starting his full-time job this summer with MCAA Member ACCO Engineered Systems as a Project Engineer.

The 2025 PCA Plumbing Service Conference in St. Louis showcased the incredible energy and emphasis on plumbing service in our industry. Attendees had the opportunity to tour the operations of Murphy Company and Local 562, gaining firsthand insight into some of the most innovative and effective plumbing service operations and UA training in the industry. From tooling strategies to safety protocols, PFAS testing and truck outfitting, the tours were a highlight and sparked great discussion among participants.
MCAA’s Virtual Trade Show connects our contractor members with the members of MCAA’s Manufacturer/Supplier Council.
W.W. Gay Mechanical Contractor, Inc. saw a 200-percent increase in shop productivity and a 12-fold increase in weld productivity by implementing Novarc Technologies Inc.’s collaborative Spool Welding Robot (SWR). They are also realizing a 100-percent pass rate on radiography tests (RTs). The SWR has reduced W.W. Gay’s dependence on highly skilled welders, of whom there is a global shortage.
Kavan graduated earlier this month from Pittsburg State University with a degree in Construction Engineering. This summer, he will be starting his full-time career with The Waldinger Corporation. During his time in the student chapter, Kavan served as Program Chair and presented in the Final Four at MCAA25 in Austin, TX.
