MEP Innovation Conference Offers Industry’s Scarcest Resource – New Ideas

Event Dates: January 11 – January 13, 2023 | Austin, TX

It is said that imitation is the best form of flattery. In construction, imitation is the best form of profitability. Learning how innovative contractors have applied new technologies, processes and concepts is not only the first step in improving your company, but also an essential time and frustration saver.

The MEP Innovation Conference was developed to find and highlight the newest ideas, then present them to contractors using real life examples. The content is developed by MEP contractors and delivered by MEP contractors. “Case studies that can showcase how contractors are using a new product, software or technology help me out more than just about anything else,” said Travis Voss, Leader of Innovative Technology at Helm Group. “I immediately know it’s not empty promises by salespeople or vaporware because someone like me has used it effectively.”

The 2023 conference will take place January 11 – January 13, 2023 in Austin, TX. It combines three days of presentations, roundtables, tours and exhibits, all built on the same theme – sharing relevant ideas. Solutions for VDC, fabrication, project management, estimating, lean and integration will be featured in over 30 sessions. Registration is limited and open to MCAA, NECA, and SMACNA members as well as labor representatives from their corresponding Unions.

The Cost of Not Training – Tyfoom Explains How Training Makes Employees More Productive, Profitable, and Committed

Training is key in driving desired systematic improvement in any organization. Yet many businesses see training as an optional cost rather than as a necessary investment with a significant return. Consequently, training often drops to the very bottom of companies’ priorities. Prioritizing training, however, makes your employees more productive, more profitable while at work, and more committed to your organization.

Hone Your Experienced Project Leaders’ Skills – Register Them for the Advanced Institute for Project Management Today

The Advanced Institute for Project Management (AIPM) is a unique, once-a-year educational experience designed for individuals with 8+ years of project management experience. Senior Project Managers, Project Executives, and Operations Directors are invited to attend this 5-day intensive program, which will take place January 29 – February 2, 2023, in Austin, TX. Register your project leaders today!

From managing impacts to claims avoidance, from operational management to client relations, this curriculum is designed to hone the skills of experienced project managers, preparing them for increased responsibility and future advancement.

So why should an experienced Project Manager or Project Executive attend? Here’s what our 2022 grads had to say about their own AIPM experiences:

AIPM graduates consistently praise the program curriculum and interaction.

“Overall this was one of, if not the, best trainings I have ever attended… It feels like the info discussed in this class is almost perfectly suited for this point in my career. Great, great opportunity.”

“This was worth every penny. Working like we all do, we can be isolated. But meeting and connecting with my classmates was maybe the greatest pleasure of my career. I plan to keep in touch for many years to come!”

“I am beyond impressed with the caliber of this program. The lessons and insight given are of the highest level. Moreso, the opportunity to interact with, pick the brain of, and observe every single lecturer has been invaluable in my eyes. You take away not only knowledge, but an understanding of the disposition it requires to be successful.”

Registration for AIPM is processed on a first-come, first-served basis, and space is limited. Companies may send up to two participants to the program. Tuition is $2,900 and registration can be completed online via the AIPM course page, where you will find additional course details.

Congratulations to Our Newest IPM Graduates

Congratulations are in order for the students of IPM Classes 81 and 82, who have just become the newest graduates of the MCAA’s Institute for Project Management! They join the ranks of the more than 2,600 project managers who have completed this two-week program designed specifically for the mechanical industry.

Since 1987 the IPM has been teaching best practices in everything from scheduling to job cost control, from contracts to change order negotiation. Taught largely by volunteers who are active leaders of MCAA member companies, this program and its content are constantly evolving to meet the needs of industry project managers as they navigate the ever-changing landscape of mechanical contracting.

Because the program is highly competitive, IPM attendees are ‘best in class’ mid-career project managers – and we certainly saw that this last week, as participants rose to every challenge we placed before them. While we are proud of the IPM curriculum and its practical applicability, what really makes this program is the degree to which students engage – not only with the content and the instructors, but also with each other. After two weeks of working together through intensive training, these grads have built a network of peers and formed friendships that we hope they will maintain for the rest of their careers!

For more information about the program – including the registration date for the next course – click the link below.
