Baker Group Hosts MCAA 2020 Fabrication Conference

Registration for MCAA's 2020 Fabrication Conference is open with Baker Group of Des Moines, Iowa set to host MCAA contractors through their new facility.

For the 20th year, MCAA is partnering with a contractor member to host the annual Fabrication Conference. This year’s member host is Baker Group, a full MEP contractor based in Des Moines, Iowa.  They will open their doors to a full facility tour that will showcase their new offices and fabrication facility.  The tour will include demonstrations of their plumbing, piping, sheet metal, electrical, automation, engineering and VDC capabilities.

The conference also includes additional education manufacturing software, workflow tools, modular construction and an update on the yellow label agreement for fabrication.

Space in this conference is limited to 200 participants and sells out every year.  Register soon if you plan on attending.

On Wednesday November 20, 2024, the Pipeline Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) published a notice explaining that for calendar year 2025 it is increasing from 25% to 50% the rate of random drug and alcohol testing for employees of operators and contractors engaged in operations, maintenance or emergency response for gas pipelines facilities, hazardous liquid pipeline facilities, carbon dioxide pipeline facilities, liquefied natural gas (LNG) plants, and underground natural gas storage facilities. In the notice, PHMSA also clarifies how operators and contractors should report their drug and alcohol testing data.
