Motor vehicle fatalities are on the rise each year, with most accidents stemming from unsafe driving, substance abuse, insufficient driver training, and poor vehicle maintenance. MCAA’s Fleet Safety for Mechanical Service and Construction Supervisors gives supervisors the tools to address this growing crisis by improving fleet safety through better training programs, stricter maintenance protocols, and enhanced driver monitoring systems. The student chapter members at Pittsburg State University proudly nominated Shannon Nicklaus for the MCAA 2024-2025 Educator of the Year based on his mentoring, mechanical industry knowledge, participation in chapter activities, and involvement in the creation of student-focused networking opportunities with local mechanical contractors through the MCA of Kansas City. In addition to a trophy, he received a $5,000 award during the MCAA25 Awards of Excellence Breakfast on Wednesday, March 5th.
