MCAA is collaborating with the Center for Construction Research and Training and the Arizona State University’s Ira Fulton Schools of Engineering to conduct a survey designed to help industry stakeholders better understand some potential welding risks. We hope the data gathered can further the implementation and usage of safety measures to reduce workers’ exposure to welding-related harm.
Some of the safety measures we will examine through this survey process include personal protective equipment (PPE), including (but not limited to) shields and ventilation equipment. The survey will also explore other factors, including workforce composition and general jobsite policies related to safety.
By completing the survey, you will be able to access the final report due to be unveiled in the fall of 2022. The survey closes on July 29th!

MCAA & our partners have teamed up with Virginia Tech’s Helmet Lab to improve head protection. An independent research project will develop the first ratings system for safety helmets, commonly referred to as hard hats or construction helmets.
