National Service and Maintenance Agreement
The National Service and Maintenance Agreement is an agreement negotiated and administered by the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry (UA) and the Mechanical Service Contractors of America (MSCA) and is a signed contract between the UA and individual mechanical service contracting firms who apply and qualify. The Agreement is a nationally recognized tool that helps contractors provide quality, consistent service to their customers throughout the country and helps reclaim lost market share.
The Manufacturer/Supplier Training area of MCAA’s website connects our contractor members with training opportunities available from the members of MCAA’s Manufacturer/Supplier Council.

MCAA hosted its first Field Leaders Conference of 2025 from May 12-14 in Washington, DC. With over 140 registrants, the event provided an engaging and impactful experience for emerging leaders in the mechanical contracting industry. MCAA’s next Field Leaders Conference will take place in Toronto, ON from September 15-17. Registration will open May 27, 2025.

Bruno is a Mechanical Engineering student at Fairleigh Dickinson University and graduating in May. He is an active member of his student chapter, served as President, Vice President, and Recruitment Chair, and interned at MCAA Member, Mid-Atlantic Mechanical. Post-graduation, Bruno will be continuing on at Mid-Atlantic as a full-time Project Engineer.
Internship season is officially here and fall student chapter recruitment plans will quickly follow. MCAA has two resources currently available to help secure a pool of qualified future employees.
As part of its ongoing commitment to protecting your livelihood and setting the stage for a bright future, MCAA has secured the services of Longbow Public Policy Group to advise our MCAA Government Affairs Committee (GAC). GAC Chair, Jim Gaffney will be passing along information relative to our industry on a regular basis.
Working at heights continues to be one of the most dangerous parts of construction and service. Each year falls are the leading cause of workplace fatalities and fall protection is the most cited OSHA violation. MCAA’s Working at Heights resources, which include training on Aerial Lift Safety, Fall Prevention and Protection, Ladder Safety, and Scaffold Safety, help keep workers safe, while model programs on fall protection and fall rescue simplify OSHA compliance. These are just a few of MCAA’s educational resources that are free to MCAA members as a benefit of membership.
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is surveying HVAC industry professionals to gather insights on current practices, methodologies, and challenges related to sizing and selecting residential heat pumps, with a focus on building integration, distribution systems, and envelope upgrades. NREL is asking mechanical service contractors to weigh in and help them identify industry trends and opportunities for improving heat pump design and installation practices by completing a brief survey by May 30, 2025.
