Reports to:  Regional Manager of Project Controls
Travel to Michigan is required on a weekly basis

 

Summary:  

Are you ready to jump start your career in the construction industry?  The Project Controls Analyst is responsible for managing and implementing project controls processes and tools to ensure successful project execution. Key Responsibilities: 

Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules using industry-standard scheduling software (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project). 
Collaborate with project teams to define project milestones, deliverables, and timelines. 

Cost Management: Establish and manage project budgets, including tracking and reporting on project costs. 
Monitor and analyze cost variances, providing recommendations for cost control. 

Performance Metrics: Define and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project progress and success. 
Prepare and distribute project performance reports to stakeholders. 

Risk Management: Identify project risks and implement risk mitigation strategies. 
Assist in developing risk management plans and monitoring risk factors. 

Change Management: Evaluate and document changes to project scope, schedule, and costs. 
Collaborate with project managers to assess the impact of changes and ensure proper approvals. 

Document Control: Establish and maintain a project document control system, ensuring version control and accessibility for project teams. 
Manage the distribution and filing of project documents. 

Project Reporting: Prepare regular project status reports, including schedule updates, cost reports, and progress summaries. 
Present project status to project teams and senior management. 

Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate communication and coordination between project teams, subcontractors, clients, and other stakeholders. 
Ensure timely and accurate information exchange. 

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
0 – 3 years of experience in project controls, project management, costs, scheduling, or a related role preferred
Proficiency in project controls software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. 
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills. 
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. 
Knowledge of construction industry practices, scheduling techniques, and cost management. 
Must have a valid Drivers License, travel is required for this role.
Willingness to learn, grit and determination to be successful at it

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND EXPECTATIONS

Some job duties are performed within an established office environment under normal lighting and climate-controlled tolerances. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
When the employee is at a work site, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places and outdoor weather conditions. The noise in the work environment is often loud.
Requires a consistent physical presence at the branch office to oversee shared services functions and employees, normally achieved by working standard business hours. Certain positions will require a flexibility of working hours to meet the demands of the job and the direction of the manager.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Requires lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or pulling.
Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds at times.
