Opportunity to join one of the largest mechanical contractors in the MD, VA, and DC area. Our clients include general contractors, tech firms, hospitals, government agencies and property management companies.
We are seeking an individual to fill a role in the CAD Support/VDC group. This position will provide support to the coordination departments in various aspects ranging from job setup, creation of Trimble field layout points, clash detections, spooling/fabrication drawings, etc.
Duties:
- Creation of shop drawing template files and architectural/structural backgrounds, both 2D and 3D
- Plotting, copying, distributing drawings.
- Navisworks clash detections
- Spooling / fabrication drawings
- Creation of point files for use with Trimble robot
- Hardware and software maintenance/installation
Experience:
- Proficient with AutoCAD
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 2010 or later
- Experience with Navisworks Manage
- Experience with Revit
- Proficient reading contract drawings
Future Duties and continued growth:
- Leading clash detections on projects
- Laser scanning and modeling As-Built conditions for retrofits and renovations
- Augmented reality and Virtual reality
- Drone operation for site conditions/presentations
- Research into new technologies
This is a good position for somebody with experience in the MEP trades and knowledge utilizing AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks. Most of the skills necessary to succeed can and will be taught. A strong foundation in AutoCAD and at least limited experience in Navisworks is required. Extensive growth opportunities within the team and company!
